Credit Unions and Banks, part deux

This is a link to an article about the Utah case where U.S. District Judge Dale Kimball invalidated the community charter FOMs of four federally chartered Utah credit unions in December. The National Credit Union Administration's Board had approved the charters.

I really think it is a danger when CUs start acting like banks. I hear Charter One [CU] ads that say "Not your typical bank." This is so ambiguous as to be misleading. I think of the speaker from Australia and what happened there. If we fuzz the distinctions between CUs and banks, we will be treated like banks.
